Re: Post a comment!

Hi everyone!!

My name is Sarah Simpson and I'm a senior at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. I'm the Student Outreach Coordinator for Student Leaders for Service on my campus. Student Leaders for Service is a student department that supports 25 undergrads and graduate students who work weekly at local community partners. We work with those 25 students weekly, as well we also work with the larger campus community on three HUGE day long service activities throughout the year; Earth Day, MLK Day, and New Student Service Day. We are currently working on turning our office into the volunteer center on campus.

I’m interested in coming out to Boston to chat with everyone and hear about what is working on other college campuses. I’m pumped about getting things percolating!!

I can’t wait to meet everyone, o so soon!!

Peace, Sarah

My name is Sara Lawson, I am a part of the Student Life Organization, and President of Drama, Speech, and Writing Club at Oakland Community College Royal Oak MI campus. Being a part of Student Life, have taught me how to become a more effective leader. Student Life offers training workshops, that have really helped me develop my leadership skills with a more diverse approach.
I had a dream one night to start up a theatre group that would be based on diversity, where we could act out each others culturals difference on stage, and let the audience know that no matter what ethic background you come from, lets work together for peace, and unity. Ifeel this conference will allow me to network and bring new ideas back to my campus, and demostrate ways for positive improvement.
